Doodling is good!
This TED talk completely caught my attention because it is all about doodling and I doodle all the time! The speaker talks about how doodling can actually be helpful and even essential to the way a person learns. She mentioned that when you learn something, you need four senses to learn: Auditory, reading/writing, touch and visual. When you doodle, little do you know, but you are using all four of those senses! This was incredible and really exciting for me to learn.
Have you ever been doodling during a lecture, thinking you are spacing, but afterwards you can recall everything? While most people believe doodling is an idle waste of time, it can actually be more helpful in the way you learn things!
I was really happy to learn about this because whenever I have a paper, pen or even a whiteboard, I will most absolutely be doodling. However, when I doodle, I can say with surety that I retain more than if I don't doodle.
